"Motherfucker's quite a shocking intense term to have in the mainstream, which it is, you stub their toe and you say 'Motherfucker', you call you Mother 'Motherfucker', It doesn't mean anything any more. I'm not one to shy away from these terms, I'm not one to say 'we cannot use Motherfucker anymore' instead I want to make people aware of it by saying OK, fuck Motherfucker, it's time for Fatherfucker."
Chatting to Skrufff last September, electro-punk-hip hop queen was typically upfront about why she called her new album Fatherfucker and it's a directness Canadian producer Tiga has retained in his new 'acid house' remix of her new single Shake Yer Dix.
Retaining all of Peaches' profanities (including her catchy Motherfucker/ Fatherfucker rant), the Sunglasses At Night electroclash star has pitched up the tempo, transforming her original hip hop groove into a catchy, dance floor friendly four/ four house groove. He's also added horns, crowd sounds, whistles and squelchy acid sounds very much of the kind that sound-tracked acid house's first time round (though Where Were You In 88 would make a better title for European rave veterans.)
Shake Yer Dix is out on XL Recordings.
