"I love Josh Wink, he's one of my favourite artists. He's been a bit quiet lately, nevertheless I'll always be his fan. I love the fact that he's so daring; I think that 'Higher States Of Consciousness' is the wildest record that ever entered the Top 40."
Chatting to Skrufff recently, Human League singer Human League was extravagant with his praise for legendary US DJ Josh Wink and he's likely to be ecstatic when he hears 20 to 20, Josh's brand new acid house EP. Because 20 to 20 picks up seamlessly where Higher States Left Off, comprising 12 increasingly intense tracks of pure electronic audio mayhem. Clearly created with the peak hour dance-floor in mind, Wink combines his trademark elements of funky basslines, euphoric breakdowns and enticing electronic noises to create an increasingly energetic acid house set that's harsh, direct, yet devastatingly simple and stompingly effective.
Famously drug free throughout his career, Wink's always understood the genuine natural highs that house music can provide and 20 To 20 proves the point perfectly (though it needs to be played loud for maximum spine tingling effect.)
"People often ask what I think about Acid House 'coming back' and I tell them that for me it never left," Wink said recently. He's right.
