Wah wah guitars, strings and Loleatta Holloway's soaring vocals combine on Salsoul's latest vinyl re-issue Runaway, a track the label themselves describe as their 'biggest cult classic'.

Previously only available on 12" vinyl on Holland, or a 7" import from the States, the track rose to prominence in 1997 when Nu Yorican Soul (aka Masters At Work men Kenny Dope and Louis Vegas) covered it, though Loletta's original stands tall on its own merits.

Soulful, catchy and generally uplifting the track both evokes the New York's golden era of late 70s decadence while managing to sound fresh in an era of cover stars and computers. Flipside That's What You Said comes with a DJ friendly acapella.
