"For me personally, the electro thing has opened the door for something else, what that is I'm not yet sure," Tiga told Skrufff last January.

"What happened with Sunglasses At Night was that I effectively got a free pass to do anything because it was so commercially successful. It's an enviable position though I think I deserved it because I'd worked so hard. So I'm gonna' take fucking advantage of it."

8 months on, Canadian electro star Tiga is in an even more enviable position as Hot In Herre, his follow up single to Sunglasses, looks poised for even greater success. Recently snapped up by Skint Records (the label who transformed Norman Cook into superstar player Fatboy Slim) the Nelle cover is getting a full UK release imminently and looks poised for serious crossover, chart success.

Initially released on thriving indie label K7 at the same time Tiga was chatting to skrufff, it became an immediate must-play record at clubs like Nag, Nag, Nag and Electric Stew, despite being dramatically different from the electroclash it then frequently accompanied. Catchy, original and toe-tappingly fresh, it's also a seriously sweaty, sexy song that bears comparison easily with Prince at his 80s best. Tiga, who's Canada's hippest personality probably ever, seems intent on global domination. And judging by the dance floor filling quality of this, his first single since Sunglasses At Night, nothing's going to stop him.
