"People who make electronic music have never had a retro influence like guitar bands who have been harking back to the sounds of the 60's. Now it's about going back to the 80's retro-synth kind of time and there's a future - we will survive!"

King of the bootleg 'mash-up' club record Richard X looks certain to not only survive but prosper beyond his wildest dreams as his new single and soon-to-be released new album hit the shops in March. Because, his simple formula of matching classic 80s club tunes with contemporary singers is proving stunningly effectively, first with Sugababes and Gary Numan's Are Friends Electric then next with Liberty X and Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody. Next up is Kelis, adding a superb vocal hook line to Human League's classic 80s album track These Are The Things Dreams Are Made Of.

"All the stuff that I have ever done is stuff that I have loved that I have known from my youth," says Richard on his website.

"I don't go out deliberately trying to find something that is trendy."

Finest Dreams is out in August on Virgin and is fantastic- a guaranteed club and radio hit.
