Three weeks ago we suggested T. Raumschmiere's new single featuring Miss Kittinwould be 'unlikely to trouble too many dance floors' which turns out to have been one of our worst predictions so far this year. Because not only was it one of the biggest tracks at London's Egg last weekend but it actually sounded fantastic at full volume, drawing loads of people onto the dance floor with immediate and infectious enthusiasm.
So it's a bit of a grower then, and ironically, one of those tracks that's much better suited to the dance floor than home listening, since its raucous energy means it has to be played loud. Miss Kittin's vocals remain a bit shouty (or amateurish, as we last put it) and she may be entirely wrong in her continuing condemnation of all things electroclash, but her force of personality works wonders to opem up Raumschmiere's otherwise heavily industrial electronic punk.
