"Electro-disco taking over. Keep shaking your butt - the DJ's a slut!"

So says Mark Moore about Tony Senghore's new single Whaddup and its an endorsement that carries unusual weight. Because as well as popularising acid house culture through his massively successful band S Express, Moore walked away from the same culture over two years ago, to go back to clubland basics, namely championing clubs and more importantly music that he loves.

2 years on, electro-disco (whatever it's called) is threatening to revolutionise clubland and tracks like Whaddup will be the catalyst that carries the scene from Nag nag nag to the rest the UK's dance floors.

Funky, filthy and immediately catchy, Whaddup has the energy of (early period) Daft Punk and enough hooks, swirls and throwaway phrases to capture any crowd and significantly, is also being championed by equally influential tastemaker Darren Emerson.

23 year old Senghore also happens to be Swedish, emphasising the impressively cosmopolitan nature of electro.

Whaddup is out on June 2 on Underwater Records.
