Though he's never been to London's most hyped (and best) club of the moment Cabaret Voltaire mainman Richard H Kirk has certainly benefited from Jonny Slut's decision to name his club after the Cab's 1979 single Nag Nag Nag. And following last year's limited edition remixes by Akufen and Tiga @ Zyntherius, that the legendary dance music pioneer now releases his own new versions, updating the original's punk version in four stylish and original ways.

Version 1 is the most electroclash friendly of the bunch, featuring an 80s sounding keyboard riff in place of the original's scratchy vocals. Version 2 is a lot more experimental, also ditching the vocal, though this time using space age sounding special effects for full effect.

Flipping over the vinyl, Version 4 (confusingly preceding version 3) comes the closest to the original (no least by keeping the chorus) presumably gaining NME's plaudit in their new issue as having 'more in common with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs than Fischerspooner'.

"It all comes back to the fact that a lot of people started playing Nag, Nag, Nag in the last couple of years so I felt it should be re-issued," Richard told Skrufff on his decision to rework the original.

"I felt Cabaret Voltaire should be represented on the new release in some way, which was why I did some of the remixes myself."

Nag Nag Nag is out now on Grey Area/Mute as a strictly limited edition vinyl only release.
