Consistently responsible for producing their own top quality techno and house tunes, Glaswegian duo Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle (aka Slam) have also unsurprisingly always enjoyed equally fruitful parallel careers as international DJs and their latest mix CD for Fabric illustrates why.
Packed with upfront gems from the likes of Oxia, Bryan Zentz and fellow techno pioneer Sven Vath, the CD?s not only mixed seamlessly but more importantly programmed intelligently and logically, in a journey style that reflects their usual 5 hour Fabric sets.
Staying close to home, they?ve also selected tracks from Soma signings Tony Thomas and Envoy as well as their own two remixes of electro outcasts Ladytron and US techno type Bryan Zentz (his excellent new single D Clash), to deliver a stylised mix CD that?s also still fresh.
They also show their 14 years of dance floor experience by saving the best to last, namely Underground Resistance?s latest track Inspiration.
?The mix reflects our DJing sound in Room 2 at Fabric, starting deep and getting gradually more intense towards the end,? says Slam-man Stuart McMillan on their approach to the mix.
?And Mad Mike?s amazing ?Inspiration? is the last track- I?m sure that?s going to grow and develop exactly as ?Jaguar? did.?
