After the unfortunate cancellation of their April 2008 Australian tour due to main-man John Darnielle's bout with the dreaded tinnitus, The Mountain Goats are ecstatic to at last be heading back to Hobart to make things right with the people.

Heading down with their drummer, Jon Wurster (Superchunk), for the first time, The Mountain Goats will be once again be thrilling & surprising fans by dipping into their extensive catalogue, which covers 17 years of music making.

With their highly literate & metaphorical lyrics being of the utmost importance, & their uncanny ability to match these to infectious tune after infectious tune, Mountain Goats lives shows are always amazing experiences, part catharsis & part celebration, as Darnielle brings his wonderful narrative driven songs to life right in front of your eyes.

The Mountain Goats will be playing at Hobart's Republic Bar and Café Friday December 12. Tickets are $30 plus fees and are on sale now from the venue and usual outlets.
