The head honcho at "Bass Station" will be here for the last Pickle vs Pitchblack for 2009.

Jason’s prolific involvement within the Australian and International music industry cannot be understated.

He began his career in the Dance music industry way back in 1986, working part time when not at school at Central Station Records on Friday nights, Saturday mornings and Sundays.

In 1991 he began working with Inpress magazine for many years and was the first Dance music journalist. He interviewed artists like Carl Cox, The Prodigy and Moby, had a music review column and a weekly event bulletin. Jason was instrumental in the development of the Dance lift out called Zebra.

Jason also hosted his own show on Kiss Fm for over 10 years. He hosted the main prime time show from 8pm to 10pm on Saturday nights.

He’s been known to play Trance, Hard House, NRG, Techno, Acid, Psy Trance, Electro, House and Drum’ n’ Bass. His ability to move with new sounds and adapt to the changing nature of dance culture is paramount to his success.

His name has appeared on nearly every major dance event in Melbourne and his interstate summary is as outstanding as his local profile. Some of his main stage sets have been at Summa Dayze, Two Tribes, Gods Kitchen, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Transmission, Hardware, Adventjah and Frantic. Jason continues to play main stage at all major dance events. He has played alongside the likes of Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, CJ Bolland, Armin Van Buurin, Groove Armada, The Prodigy, Krafty Cuts, Blutonium Boy, Dj Dean, Brooklyn Bounce, Dj Jam X and De Leon (Dummonde), Ferry Corsten, John oo Flemming, Oliver Lieb, Brooklyn Bounce, Cosmic Gate, Sasha, John Digweed, Adam Freeland, Scott Project, Crystal Method, Dj Dean, Bt, Above and Beyond, Nick Warren, Gabriel and Dredson, Hybrid, Tom Neville, Derrick May, Dave Lee, Scott Bond, Dj Heaven, Lisa Lashes, Organ Donors, De La Soul, Tim Deluxe, Darren Emerson, Meat Katie, Moguai, Fergie, Bk, Phil Reynolds, Bob Sinclair, Derrick Carter, Krafty Cuts, Infusion, Eddie Halliwell, Marc Dawn, and Trance Generators.

Jason has also played all over the world. Countries like the Uk, Malaysia, Ibiza, Kuala Lumpa, Russia, Barcelona, Berlin and Bali.

His releases so far include seven Ministry Of Sound Hard Nrg CD’s (five making it to number 1) and three Bass Station CD’s on his own label Sound Of Now Records, including ”Live at Big Bass” which featured original music all written and produced by Jason. This CD was also released on DVD and four of the tracks were pressed on vinyl. Two of them made it to number 1 on various European Charts.

Jason’s remarkable career has gone from strength to strength. Along with his extensive touring schedule, (domestically and abroad), and studio commitments he managed to win 3 major awards. Firstly winning and then coming runner up in the ‘Technics In The mix” Most popular Dj in Victoria and at the DMA’s Sound Of Now (S.O.N), Jason’s production company won best club night for the internationally renowned “Bass Station”, which is now in its 10th year.

Jason Midro is joined by Shad, Gorak and Corney at Syrup Nightclub on the 27th of November. Presale tickets are $10 + BF from Ruffcut Records.
