The first stage funding of Reel to Reel, an initiative of Arts Tasmania, is closing soon.

Reel to Reel offers grants and low interest loans to musicians over three developmental stages to assist Tasmanians in the commercialisation of their original music. These stages range from Demo Recording through to Promotional Development.

The first stage funding is a Demo Recording grant of up to $500 for musicians who have developed a repertoire of work, and significant experience in performing. It is the idea that this recording would be used to assist musicians in promoting their work to various levels of the industry.

Applications for the Reel to Real Stage One Demo Recording program must be received by Arts Tasmania by 1 July 2003 and will be notified in September 2003.
