The OnlyHow does it feel to be one of the bigger buzz acts in the country? Well you’d have to ask The Only and something tells us they’d say “it feels pretty fucking good, thanks”.

The Only’s debut single ‘The Only F*cking Rave Party’ landed in the ARIA Singles Chart Top 50, ahead of it’s official release and without any radio play. This atomic tune went on to hit #1 on the Australian Independent Music Chart and become the #1 Australian Artist Dance Single in the country. Coupled with their live show favourite ‘Dancin’ as the B-side, the single set up residence in the iTunes dance chart where it spent more than 6 months and established The Only as amongst the hottest new young electronic acts.

With a grand entry such as that, it wasn’t long before ears began pricking up all over the globe, with artists including The Bloody Beetroots, The Subs, AC Slater, Larry Tee and Tocadisco all reverently pushing The Only’s sound. Even Hipster Demi-God Steve Aoki has stood straight up and taken notice, including ‘The Only F*cking Rave Party’ on his Sessions mix compilation. Steve Aoki has not only championed The Only worldwide, supporting their tracks in his DJ sets but quickly got them on board to remix for his infamous DIM MAK record label.

Want to know how to win friends and influence people? Ask The Only. Having lent their trademark sound to remix artists including Dizzee Rascal, Armand Van Helden, The Subs, Drop The Lime, Gtronic, Mighty Fools & more, The Only quickly caught the ear of Ministry of Sound Australia who enlisted them to mix their Electro House Sessions 3 compilation. For their mix CD, The Only weaved together a daring blend of music from their favourite artists such as Fake Blood, Sub Focus & Vitalic alongside their own productions into an edgy & intense mix that saw the release hit #1 on the iTunes Albums Chart & #3 on the ARIA Compilations Chart.

So what do these newly crowned dons of “getting your f*cking rave on” do when it comes to touring? Like everything else The Only, they have taken a non-traditional approach to the art of electronic music performance and as a result, have established themselves as one of the most exciting new live electronic acts to emerge in Australia this year.

In ‘Club Mode’ The Only are performers NOT DJs. And exactly like their music, ‘The Only Live’ is intense and raw. Its an audio, visual & lighting onslaught unlike any other band in Australia. Both ‘The Only Live’ and ‘’The Only Club Mode’ are backed by their own unique décor, crowd interaction and theatrics, which turn any stage into a complete performance space. Every time The Only take the stage its best described as a “mutha fuckin’ rave party!”

On the road The Only have played sold out club shows and created blood baths in the hottest clubs and venues across the country including Family Nightclub, Chinese Laundry, The Met, Villa, Academy, HQ, Manning Bar & more as well as earning places on leading festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Field Day, Groovin The Moo & Foreshore Festival.

All this is from a band that has existed for less than 18 months. And the future shows no signs of slowing down.

With the debut of their closely veiled live show in October at One Movement Music Summit (Perth), a new EP & single scheduled for November release, their remix for German label We Play at #1 on the Official German Dance Club Chart; two high profile remixes in the works, it’s obvious The Only are just getting started.

Zed may be dead baby, but Rave Is King.
